Grant was born and raised in Victoria along with two brother and two sisters. He often accompanied his father (a contractor) to work. He went to BCIT and trained as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer. He spent 4 years in Nigeria working with a hospital mission doing construction. Once he was home, he put together an overhead door factory plus a fabrication shop. He has worked with a packaging company doing R & D on high tech packaging equipment and finished off his various careers in the pre-engineered steel building industry as a project manager. The odd job has continued to come his way even in retirement.
He had the wonderful experience of leading a team from the church he attends to bring a Syrian/Iraqi family of four to Canada and see them resettled in Langley. He also helped bring the sister from Damascus to Canada thus re-uniting the whole family.
There are many areas of interest to him as far as hobbies go. Models, a 14’ hovercraft half finished and a 22ft boat that sits in his driveway and needs lots of love and care.
